The C-Stock was our previous hydroplane hull that was also donated to us by Thomas Schlarb. The project was originally meant to be a multi-year project where we would aim to make the boat completely electric, however due to a lack of feasibility and design direction we did not continue with this project. That being said, we aim to transfer a lot of the projects that we had with the C-Stock to the UIM F2 Boat.
Check out some of the projects we did with the C-Stock, which will eventually make a return in the UIM F2 Boat:
The motor cooling project was a project undertaken by our former Mechanical Team Lead, Tyler Kenney and his senior design team. They designed a cooling system over the course of a semester to cool the motor we intended to use for the C-Stock.
The battery cooling project was a project undertaken by one of our former presidents, Luke Ittyachen and his team for MEMS 1065 (Thermal Systems Design). For their project, they designed a cooling system for a 400 V battery that outputted ~3 kW, while ensuring the battery was at an optimal temperature.
We designed a custom 400 V battery module to power the C-Stock and its motor try to get the boat running as fast as possible.
