Pittsburgh Electric Propulsion is excited to announce our partnership with Thomas Schlarb and the rest of the Schlarb Racing Team! The Team will be working on a C-Stock Hydroplane and developing an all-electric powertrain and drivetrain. We could not be more excited to form this partnership with Thomas and the rest of his team. The goal for the project is to create the worlds fastest C-Stock Electric Hydroplane. Please check Thomas's comments below to learn more about his journey and involvement with the project! "My name is Thomas Schlarb. I am originally from Rootstown, Ohio but currently reside in Millington, Michigan. I was introduced to and fell in love with boat racing at a very young age watching my father race pro stock hydroplanes. It wasn't until 2018 when I purchased my first boat, a DIXON craft hydro that I started racing myself. Since then I have raced many classes within American Power Boat Association, including 300SSH, 25SSR, C Stock Hydro, C Stock runabout, CSR Marathon, F2 and F4 tunnel boat. Before being involved in stock outbord and tunnel boat racing I was very active in the RC boat world. More specifically the IMPBA or International Model Powerboat Association in which I raced electric classes all over Ohio and Michigan, I also traveled to Canada where I raced in the Can-Am events. During my years of RC boat racing I have dedicated many hours experimenting, gathering data and perfecting my electric outboard motor set ups. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with the university on producing the fastest and most efficient electric outboard motor."
